中国轻工业出版社成立于1954年10月。56年来,为我国的文化事业和轻工行业提供了一批贴近生活、贴近群众、贴近实际的图书、期刊、音像及数字出版产品,在中国出版市场树立了良好的品牌形象,深受广大读者喜爱。2009年8月,在新闻出版总署发布的《全国经营性图书出版单位等级评估》中,中国轻工业出版社被评为一级出版单位,并被授予“全国百佳图书出版单位”的荣誉称号。2009年度还获得“中央国家机关文明单位标兵” 及北京市“十佳版权单位”称号。

目前,出版社年销售收入为6亿多,净资产近4亿。年出版书刊3.6亿,其中图书近2亿,图书品种1200余种。出版社现有员工600多人,形成了自己独特而又鲜明的特色,拥有轻工出版、瑞丽等一系列有影响力的品牌,在国内进入了大社、名社行列。

“十一五”期间,中国轻工业出版社坚持“特色主业、品牌延伸、内容整合、媒体互动”的发展战略,以消费品行业为依托,形成了行业和生活两大特色,提供了多种出版内容及媒体运作服务,形成了多媒体互动传播的出版优势。

图书出版在科技、教育、生活三大板块的基础上,拓展了青少年图书的出版,培育了“食品科技”、“艺术设计教材”、“现代人食谱”、大众健康、“万千教育”和“万千心理”等畅销的图书品牌,在读者中产生了深刻的影响。

56年来,中国轻工业出版社为社会和行业做出了许多贡献。图书获奖210多种,期刊获奖150多次。近年来,“轻工出版”的图书多次荣获国内外出版大奖,其中《区域经济学原理》获得中宣部“五个一工程奖”,《非典型肺炎不可怕》获得国家图书特别奖,《中国茶叶大辞典》荣获“第四届国家辞书奖一等奖”,《中国酿酒科技发展史》荣获第十届全国优秀科技图书奖,《中国湘菜大典》一书入选2008年“三个一百”原创出版工程,中国轻工业出版社荣获2008年世界美食图书大奖赛的最佳美食出版社奖。美食图书中的《湖广会馆私房菜》、《美味中国》和《精选家常菜1288例》等近20个品种,以内容有特色、版式新颖,连续四年在世界美食图书大赛获奖。《近代汉族民间服饰全集》、《中国清真饮食文化》分别获得2009年和2010年“经典中国国际出版工程”资助。

期刊出版是中国轻工业出版社的一大特色。以《瑞丽》为代表,《都市主妇》、《宠物世界》等优势期刊组成了品牌期刊群。2009年,《男人风尚》杂志、《美容》杂志新刊出版上市。

“瑞丽”已被认定为“中国驰名商标”。《瑞丽》系列期刊群以期刊出版为龙头,同时开展网络、图书、无线移动等媒体的出版运营,兼营广告、模特经纪、电子商务等多项业务,其坚守“实用的时尚”的品牌特色,成功实践了平面媒体、电子媒体的互动整合。《瑞丽》杂志“设计美丽,设计生活”的品牌宗旨得到了广大女性读者的喜爱,具有极大的品牌影响力。《都市主妇》为都市成熟女性的时尚读物。杂志以分享生活智慧,展示生活艺术,提供体贴、全面的实用解决方案为办刊宗旨,让成熟女性在家庭、事业、情感、自我方面建立平衡,拥有自信快乐的幸福人生。《宠物世界》坚持用专题、情感、消费、互动等表现形式,向宠物爱好者提供权威的宠物资讯。《家电大视野》杂志致力于成为家电消费的权威指导月刊。

作为国家第一批享有网络出版权的50家出版社之一,中国轻工业出版社在做实主业的同时,实施资源整合、品牌延伸,建立了中国轻工业出版社网、瑞丽女性网、都市主妇网等多家网站。

积极实施走出去战略,是中国轻工业出版社多年来始终坚持的发展战略之一。中国轻工业出版社为加强对外合作与交流,通过广泛地开展版权贸易,先后与日本、韩国、美国、德国、英国等国际大型出版集团及台湾地区、香港特别行政区等出版商建立了长期、友好、稳定的合作伙伴关系。近几年,在引进版权的同时,还实现了本版系列丛书多语种输出。

China Light Industry Press (simplified called CHLIP), established in October 1954, is one of the best publishers in China. In recent 56 years, the press has been providing a great number of books, periodicals and digital publishing products reflecting ordinary people and their actual life for China’s light industrial science and social culture, which has helped to establish an excellent publishing brand among the publishing industry market in China. All the products are very popular with a wide variety of readers. In August 2009, CHLIP was elected one of the first-class publishers and included in the list of “100 Best Publishers” in the “China Business Book Publisher Evaluation Report”, which was released by the General Administration of Press and Publication. In 2009, it was recognized as the “Civilized Pacesetter of the State Organs” as well as “Top 10 Copy Right Unit” by the Beijing municipal.

Its net asset reached RMB 377 million Yuan and the sales revenue was over RMB 606 million Yuan in 2009. All together, more than 361 million books and periodicals were published by the press, including 200 million books of 1200 varieties; With a number of famous brand names, such as light industrial publishing products and “Rayli books”, and more than 600 devoted staff, CHLIP has formed its own unique and distinct characteristics, making itself one of the largest and most famous publishers among the domestic press.

During the eleventh-five years, the press has been sticking to the strategy of “characteristic main business, brand expansion, content integration and media interaction”. Depending on consumable industry, it projects the features of the whole industry and people’s daily life. It provides various publications and media operation service; through integrating publication contents, it realizes the media interaction within the publishing group and has formed its interactive media advantages with books and periodicals as its major business together with e-products and online publication.

Developing science and technology, producing textbooks steadily and exploiting life, the press divides its books into three main parts and has established famous book brand names of “food science”, “art design textbook”, “modern gourmand”, “health”, “Wanqian education”, and etc, which have great influence in readers. Last year, the press published new books for young people and children.

The books published by the press have obtained a lot of awards both at home and abroad. For example, Regional Economics Theory won “Five No.1 Project Award” issued by Ministry of Propaganda of People’s Republic of China; SARS is Not Fearful gained “Special Books Award”; Dictionary of Chinese Tea took the first prize of the fourth “National Dictionary Award”; The History of Technological Vintage in China was awarded as “Excellent Technological Book” in the Tenth Technological Books Awards ; The Hunan Cuisine Book was awarded as “Original work Project Award” and the press rewarded as “The Best Publisher” in Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2008.In 2006-2008,there are 20 titles book of CHLIP gained the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, that is “Hunan Guangdong Special Private Dishes”, “Beautiful Taste from Chins CCTV, with DVD from the television program ”,the title of “1288 recipes”, and etc. “Folk apparels of Han nationality in China” based on the rich collection in folk apparels museum in J Jiangnan University, the authors have made great efforts into detailed and objective study of the folk apparels of Han nationality in China. “ diet culture of Muslim in china”, thus it has filled the publication gap and academic gap in this field.

There are some prominent periodicals in the press, such as Rayli, Hers, Pets World and Overview of consumer appliance, which is another feature of the press. In 2009, the press lanunched two magazines, as Leon and Beauty.

Among them, Rayli series are popular with the female readers for its concepts of “designing life and beauty” and gain great brand benefit in social and periodical publication market. The magazine Hers is considered to be a life guideline full of warmth and gentleness for mature ladies. Pets World, concentrating on pets, provides authoritative information about pets.

China Light Industry Press, as one of the first 50 publishers who were guaranteed the rights of online publication by General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China in 2003, established websites of Chlip(www.chlip.com.cn),Rayli (www.rayli.com.cn),and Hers (www.herschina.com).

The press puts emphasis on cooperation with abroad company and makes the strategy of output. It develops the copyrights trade widely all over the world and has established long-term, friendly and stable relationships with publishers from Japan, Korea, USA, Germany, UK as well as Taiwan Area and Hong Kong SAR.

The press will continue committing itself to the goal of “harmonious, be pragmatic, developing” and “developing science and technology of light industry and education” as well as “making life better”. Based on the principles of “being scientific, useful, practical and fashionable”, it will push the books, periodicals, digital publishing publication steadily and continually, and do everything it could to serve the Chinese and international publishing industry.
